XXI BARCELONA BLUES FESTIVAL.

In 2003, two friends, in the middle of a concert hangover and struck by the power of a music they had not yet got to know in depth, made the decision, without any prior planning, that they would make a Blues Festival (the most forgotten music by the media) in their neighborhood (one of the most forgotten areas of Barcelona). They had to go to the Blues Festival of Barcelona (one of the most forgotten areas of Barcelona).

These two people, without belonging to the wealthy bourgeoisie of the city (which has always monopolized the big cultural events in Barcelona) contacted top musicians of the genre and convinced them of what even they themselves could not believe: that a new headline festival was born in the city and that it would be held in La Prosperidad.

Without capital, without experience, without even the support of the administration in its first edition, they went knocking door to door of the small businesses, associations
and entities of the neighborhood to cover the costs of the project... and, thanks to the strength of their conviction and the solidarity of the neighbors of La Prosperitat, they succeeded. This small miracle is a miracle of the neighborhood.

This small miracle was worked in September 2003. The Blues Festival of reference of the city was born, without the auspices of the media, nor the tutelage of the gurus of cultural programming, without the support of the administration or the approval of the big music industry.

This year 2023 marks the twenty-first anniversary of this first Festival. The project has grown and developed. Se ha proyectado en el resto de la ciudad y ha alcanzado hitos que nunca habríamos soñado conseguir. Hemos visto llegar y pasar a gobiernos municipales de todos los colores. Ellos van cambiando, pero nosotros seguiremos aquí.

We have nothing but words of thanks for helping us get to this point in our journey. Without all of you it would have been impossible.
